mluví česky (speak czech)

Installed a couple of "Speak Czech" apps on my trusty Android. BW is learning a few words, too. I'm thinking about teaching him to say:

Moje vznášedlo je plné úhořů!

This means:

My hovercraft is full of eels!

Just for fun, here are some Czech consonants... Rrrrrzzzzzzhhhhh...

Flying J-dog

"I swear it was self-defense!"
Finding a one-way flight from Minneapolis to Prague that allows small dogs in the cabin has been no walk in the dog park. Yes, many international airlines allow pets to fly in the cargo hold, but I've read horror stories about the air quality and temperatures in cargo, and Jayda aspirates when she gets scared/excited. Also, she is small enough to qualify as carry-on baggage on some international airlines.

Thus far, it looks like J-dog fits the requirements for being a cabin pet (i.e. under my feet) on LOT Polish airlines, provided we purchase a soft-sided, airline-approved pet carrier. So we may be flying to Prague via Krakow, which is quite a bit further East...

...an adventure!

Funny how we tell people we have big news and they all assume it's a bambino. While we hope that will happen down the road, our announcement is that we're packing our bags, renting out our condo and moving to Prague!

I was beyond blessed to live in the stunning Czech capital five years ago and now BW and I are heading over for the chance to work in an international community, expand our horizons, travel, drink good pilsner and bring our dog, Jayda, into cafes with us (because they allow that, you know).

We leave in August and will post info on a goodbye gathering, our new address and more in the near future. Start making plans to come visit, please!
